In fourteen years Marc will enter the university library and make his way to the neglected card catalogue. He will go the S section and wait until a young woman with a burgundy handbag enters the area. She will move slowly towards him, as in a reverie, and will ask him about a book. Marc will remove a book from his knapsack and open it in front of her. The book is revealed to be a case containing eight round pocks arrayed in a circle. Every second one holds a marble. The young woman moves a handkerchief up to her mouth.
